We really did!
The adventure begins at Lowe's -- had to buy the wood to build the sides of the raised bed...
The next day we went to a plant sale at a local community garden. Harrison is pointing to his "kukini" (zucchini). Also got okra, squash, tomatoes, and a cucumber that day, then added watermelon, strawberries, bell peppers, basil, mint, oregano, and rosemary later...
Time to build!
Hewitt finished his nap joined us -- dressed up in his sun-blocking bodysuit and ready to splash in the splash pool...
Time to plant!
He's saying, "Night, night" to all the plants as we tuck them in. :)
Our first thing! A strawberry!
About 3 weeks after we planted (although the strawberry plant I chose had a few little green berries already showing, which is why I chose it!)
About a month after we first planted -- still going strong! Bottom box is the fruits (two strawberry bushes and a watermelon vine) / top box is the vegetables (two tomato plants, two zucchini plants, one squash plant, two okra plants, one cucumber vine, one bell pepper plant, and basil) / other herbs (mint, oregano, and rosemary) are in containers...
